WORLD NEWS: North Korea No Shows Planned Meeting With U.S.
North Korean officials did not show up to a planned meeting with US officials at the demilitarized zone Thursday, where they were expected to continue discussions on repatriating the remains of Americans killed during the Korean War, a senior US official tells CNN.
There was no call or explanation from North Korean officials on why they skipped the meeting. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo ignored a question about the apparent snub when asked by reporters traveling with him in Brussels on Thursday.
When Sec of State Pompeo went to North Korea a few days ago, he thought he was going to meet with Leader Kim to continue the talks Pres Trump started.
Instead, he was shuffled off to attend endless dinners with lower-level officials, and little, if any, serious discussions....

ROUNDUP VIDEO: True Glory By The Department of War With Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower
https://youtu.be/N4A9YClD1uk
GOVERNMENT FILMS: General Eisenhower introduces this joint US/British Government film that surveys the entire campaign in Western Europe from just before D-Day to the surrender of Germany in May 1945. Directed by Carol Reed.
ROUNDUP TV: Oscar-winning documentary of WWII from D-Day to V-E Day, as shot by combat cameramen. Produced jointly by the DoD and MoD. Narrated by Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower.
HISTORICAL FOOTAGE:This Won the Oscar for "Best Documentary" in 1946.
WORLD WAR II: Coming just two decades after the last great global conflict, the Second World War was the most widespread and deadliest war in history, involving more than 30 countries and resulting in more than 50 million military and civilian deaths (with some estimates as high as 85 million dead).
Sparked by Adolf Hitler’s invasion of Poland in 1939, the war would drag on for six deadly years until the final Allied defeat of both Nazi Germany and Japan in 1945.
THE HARROD REPORT: U.S. Budget Deficit Jumps in First Nine Months of Fiscal Year
The U.S. budget deficit widened by 16 percent to $607 billion three-quarters of the way through Donald J. Trump's first full fiscal year as president, as spending accelerated faster than revenue....
LOL...Anyone who's surprised by this news, hasn't been paying attention.
I'm sure this will all be blamed on Obama, Democrats, and liberals.

ROUNDUP VIDEO: Declassified Footage Battle Of Midway By National Archives And Records Administration
https://youtu.be/h-FXKVzDGeU
GOVERNMENT FILMS: Department of the Navy. Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. Naval Observatory. (1942 - 09/18/1947).
ROUNDUP TV: This information was classified in 1950 which is the date shown on the final frame. This is because the very detailed fleet information on the Japanese could only have come from cracking the Japanese naval codes. At that time the US Navy did not want our enemies to know we had cracked these codes.
HISTORICAL FOOTAGE:This is a good overview of the ships available to both sides at the outset of the battle.
This film provides an interesting narrative of the events leading up to the Battle of Midway.
However, it is incomplete, as it appears to be the first part of a multi-part film. It would certainly be nice if the remaining parts--with the actual battle--could be found.
Six months after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the United States defeated Japan in one of the most decisive naval battles of World War II.
Thanks in part to major advances in code breaking, the United States was able to preempt and counter Japan’s planned ambush of its few remaining aircraft carriers, inflicting permanent damage on the Japanese Navy.
An important turning point in the Pacific campaign, the victory allowed the United States and its allies to move into an offensive position.
HEALTH NEWS: No link between dairy fats and heart disease
The study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, found no significant link between dairy fats and cause of death or, more specifically, heart disease and stroke – two of the country's biggest killers often associated with a diet high in saturated fat.
In fact, certain types of dairy fat may help guard against having a severe stroke, the researchers reported.
"Our findings not only support, but also significantly strengthen, the growing body of evidence which suggests that dairy fat, contrary to popular belief, does not increase risk of heart disease or overall mortality in older adults. In addition to not contributing to death, the results suggest that one fatty acid present in dairy may lower risk of death from cardiovascular disease, particularly from stroke," said Marcia Otto, Ph.D., the study's first and corresponding author and assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology, Human Genetics and Environmental Sciences at UTHealth School of Public Health.
The study looks pretty rigorous, well-planned and well-executed.
Dairy fats had been lumped in with other dietary fats, with the thinking that fats are fats are fats.
This study seems to show that not all fats are created equal, that dairy fats are different in their effects upon the body.
Before I jump on the full-fat dairy product bandwagon, however, I'd want to see at least one more study that confirms these results.
But, But, But..... Dairy fat is how a little baby calf becomes a 400lb heifer in just nine months

ROUNDUP VIDEO: This is Korea By The Department Of The Navy
https://youtu.be/hEbLqSne1AY
GOVERNMENT FILMS: Covers the United States involvement with Korea and testing of Korean weapons. John Ford directed this film which is the only color documentary made during the Korean War.
ROUNDUP TV: America's forgotten war lives again momentarily - it looks pretty grim
Historical Footage From 1951
On June 25, 1950, the Korean War began when some 75,000 soldiers from the North Korean People’s Army poured across the 38th parallel, the boundary between the Soviet-backed Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to the north and the pro-Western Republic of Korea to the south.
This invasion was the first military action of the Cold War.
By July, American troops had entered the war on South Korea’s behalf. As far as American officials were concerned, it was a war against the forces of international communism itself.
After some early back-and-forth across the 38th parallel, the fighting stalled and casualties mounted with nothing to show for them.
Meanwhile, American officials worked anxiously to fashion some sort of armistice with the North Koreans.
The alternative, they feared, would be a wider war with Russia and China–or even, as some warned, World War III. Finally, in July 1953, the Korean War came to an end.
In all, some 5 million soldiers and civilians lost their lives during the war. The Korean peninsula is still divided today.

The sentences will run consecutively.
On August 26, 2017, Yance was driving on Central Park Avenue in Yonkers recklessly at approximately 100 miles per hour when the car overturned ejecting the victim.
On August 6, 2017, he had been charged with driving without a license and under the influence of drugs in Dobbs Ferry.
In court on Tuesday, Edwin Cordero, Nina Cordero’s father, gave a victim’s impact statement, saying in part that, “I never felt hatred but there is no peace, forgiveness or mercy in me. You have to find it from God. But it will never come from me or my family.”

NEW YORK STATE: Cuomo blasts Trump administration, Supreme Court nominee Kavanaugh
YONKERS – Governor Andrew Cuomo rallied his fellow Democratic public officials in Westchester County on Tuesday to criticize President Trump’s nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
The governor vowed to take action to defend New York’s “progressive values against the extreme conservative agenda of the Trump Administration.”
With a threat of a federal reversal of Roe v. Wade, Cuomo called on state lawmakers to codify those protections into state law.
“I call on every Senate Republican to come back to Albany; do it tomorrow,” the governor said. “The Assembly will support codification of Roe v. Wade. I will sign the bill. The Senate Democrats will vote 100 percent in favor of it. Come back and pass Roe v. Wade for New York. There are no excuses.”
The governor, meanwhile, signed an executive order while in Yonkers ensuring that women in New York who are insured through individual, small group, and large group comprehensive health insurance policies as well as Medicaid receive insurance coverage without cost-sharing for contraceptive services.

HARROD DIGITAL SOLUTIONS: The Five Best Free Press Release Distribution Services 2018 - By Brian Harrod
Free press release distribution services syndicate your press releases to a network of media outlets for free.
We looked at the available options and found only five reputable choices among the ninety-plus available.
From there, we reviewed the five options on criteria such as the size of their distribution network, level of customization, and ease of use.
Small businesses looking for a free press release (PR) distribution service typically want the widest network at no cost. However, PR services are often low in quality, and business owners need a free distribution service with a workable interface. This makes both the size and value of potential syndication, along with the ease of use, important factors to consider.
The five overall criteria we used to evaluate free press release distribution services include:
- Distribution – How many syndication partners the press release service has, and the value of those partners in terms of audience; the more partners a press release company has, or the higher the value of its readership, the better your press release will perform
- Customization – The level of customization or features allowed, including outbound links, multimedia, and images
- Timing – How much flexibility is given on timing, scheduling, or queue lengths
- Usability – Ease of use, including functionality, reporting, and customer service
- Upgrades – The scope and cost of any paid upgrades for the press release
If you want the highest levels of syndication possible, you should use all of the free services on this list, as there aren’t any mutually exclusive options. If you must use only one, select PRLog, since it will syndicate your press release to the highest number of media partners. However, you might have more success trying a paid service.
With just one paid distribution service, you can typically get far more distribution than you would by using all the free services on this list. For the best and widest syndication, consider using a paid service
Best Overall Free Press Release Distribution Service: PRLog
With just one paid distribution service, you can typically get far more distribution than you would by using all the free services on this list. For the best and widest syndication, consider using a paid service
Best Overall Free Press Release Distribution Service: PRLog
PRLog is one of the oldest and most reputable press release services with the widest network of free media outlets for syndication, including Yahoo! News and Google News. PRLog also lets you customize your press release for free, adding things like a photo, logo, link, and video. It is best for businesses that want a professional-looking press release distributed to the most media outlets at no cost.
Distribution
PRLog’s distribution levels set the standard for free press release services. You can select an industry in which to list your press release, along with three keywords or tags and one location listing. This will help you get the most relevant syndication, allowing your press release to show up on leading sites. Additionally, PRLog sends an email to journalists as well as lists your press release on their homepage.
The distribution offering for PRLog includes:
Media outlet distribution – PRLog’s press release feed is picked up by all the major search engines as well as major news sites.
Email distribution – PRLog sends press releases notifications to their mailing list, which consists of journalists and media outlets.
Front page listing on PRLog.com – Since PRLog is the most well-known of the free press release services, it earns high levels of traffic from journalists looking for a story. Your press release will hit the PR.com homepage after publication, giving it extra visibility.
Customization
PRLog allows you to add one photo, one text link, a company logo, and a video embed. The press release is limited to a maximum of 500 words.
Scheduling
You can distribute your press release immediately or schedule it in advance for up to three days. Many other free services do not allow for same day publishing or advanced scheduling.
Ease of Use
PRLog has been in existence for many years, and the interface is showing its age. In spite of the clunky feel, the functionality is solid. Submitting a press release involves creating an account and uploading your release, which takes about ten minutes as long as you’ve already written the copy.
Paid Upgrades
PRLog’s paid upgrades include:
Basic ($29) – At this price point, your press release appears without ads, and you are able to add additional industry targeting, photos, and links.
Premium ($49) – The Premium distribution plan sends your press release to newspapers, news sites, and the AP, plus additional industry listings and feeds.
Premium 2 ($99) – Premium 2 provides everything that the Premium plan does, plus geotargeting options, more industry listings, more keywords, higher word count, and video embedding.
Premium Plus ($349) – PRLog’s top-tier paid service costs $349. At this level, your press release is syndicated to 5,700 news outlets, including PR Newswire, a premier PR syndication network. Press releases at this level receive a specialized report that lists every site on which your press release appeared.
What PRLog Is Missing
PRLog’s interface is dated and cumbersome to use. Also, since thousands of users submit free releases on PRLog, your press release may not receive wide visibility among journalists or other media companies.
Where to Find PRLog
At PRLog.org, you can read about the distribution submission process and view all the recent press releases under “Breaking News.” When you’re ready to publish your release, you can sign up for a free account and submit your free press release within minutes.
Best Free Press Release Distribution Service for Social Sharing: - Free Press Release
Free Press Release (FPR) is a good choice to gain another layer of distribution for your press release. Because FPR has excellent social sharing potential with its social sharing buttons, the service is great for businesses with newsworthy events that tend to be socially viral. However, releases published on FPR have a long queue time, which may delay the publication of your release for a week or longer.
Distribution
Free Press Release distributes your press release to major news sources, but does not share any information regarding the number of syndication partners or news channels. Where FPR stands out is that your press release has built-in social sharing buttons, which may allow for marginally better publicity. The only other free PR provider with social sharing capability is Online PR Media, but they don’t syndicate like FPR and only post to their website.
Customization
The free version is bare bones and places advertisements on your release. No images or links are allowed. Formatting is limited to boldface and bullet lists using basic HTML tags.
Scheduling
Your press release will be published according to your position in a queue. When I submitted a sample press release, my PR was in position 289,627, with an estimated wait time of seven days. This scheduling delay can be a major shortcoming for time-sensitive news stories such as openings or events occurring on a specific date.
Ease of Use
FPR is very easy to use. The interface is clean, fast, and intuitive. Creating the press release itself was as simple as filling out a form. FPR ensures that your press release is formatted correctly by indicating what should be provided in each section (e.g., headline, body, etc.). If your press release is too short (below 500 words), too long, or keyword stuffed, you will have to reconfigure it until it matches the system’s parameters.
Paid Upgrades
There are two paid plans:
Premier ($19) – Provides you with the Free Press Release mobile platform, allows you to select two categories, and permits geographical targeting.
Customized ($59) – In addition to the benefits of the Premier plan, the Customized plan distributes your press release across the company’s social media channels and RSS, and furnishes you with a report on the performance of the press release.
What Free Press Release Is Missing
FPR has very few customization options in the free version. Timing is another concern. Depending on your position in the queue, it could take days before your release is published
Where to Find Free Press Release
To submit a release with FPR, you must register a new account. Once you’ve done so, you’ll be able to submit your first press release within a matter of minutes.
http://www.free-press-release.com/members/register.php
Another Good Free Press Release Distribution Service: Newswire Today
Newswire Today is a solid, free PR provider that can add another layer of distribution to your press releases. Newswire Today claims to be the “most trusted newswire press release distribution network,” and has a ten-year history in the industry. It’s an excellent choice for getting even more syndication from a free release.
Distribution
Press releases with Newswire today are free due to advertising placement on the releases. Their syndication partners include the industry-specific media sites, PR agencies, market research reports, and other news content providers.
Since Newswire is owned by a large advertising and communications company (Limelon Advertising), they may possess a broader distribution than the other free press release providers on this list except for PRLog. Free releases are syndicated via RSS to approximately 2,000 sources.
Customization
As with most free press release providers, customization is limited. You are not able to add your logo, images, multimedia, or links. In addition, you will not be able to include any contact information in your press release. Finding the right balance between functionality, features, and syndication is challenging, which is why the best choice is often a paid service
Scheduling
Press releases are published in the order they are received. Newswire Today’s free level of service does not allow you to schedule the release to be published at a specific time. Paid upgrades allow same-day publishing or scheduling within a 30-day window.
Ease of Use
Out of all the free distribution services on this list, Newswire Today is the most difficult to use. The site is dated, the text is small, and filling out forms and information can be cumbersome and time-consuming.
Paid Upgrades
Newswire Today provides three levels of paid upgrades:
Premium Press Room and Social Wall ($99 each) – Newswire will syndicate your release to PR Today and PR Zoom, post on social media, and add it to the press release section of the website.
Premium Articles International Distribution ($129 each) – In addition to the above features, you can publish the press release the same day, schedule releases over a thirty-day period, and receive enhanced social promotion.
Site Launch Boost with Banner ($249 for one month) – This upgrade level caters to startups and new website launches. Newswire creates a banner ad to accompany your press release and gives it additional visibility on their website, social media, and with syndication partners.
What Newswire Today Is Missing
Newswire Today is challenging to use. Unless you are used to the interface, it may take some time to figure out how to send a press release. Additionally, the cost of the paid upgrades does not seem to be commensurate with their value.
Where to Find Newswire Today
To send a press release on Newswire Today, you must first set up an account. Creating an account will take some time since the form is very detailed. After that, you’ll be free to create and submit your first release.

Best Free Press Release Distribution Service with Custom Features: PR.com
PR.com is a good choice for businesses that want press release features that usually cost money, including company logo, industry targeting (up to five industries), keyword listing, and a file upload. While PRLog offers some of these things, no other free press release service allows you to attach files to your release, which could be good if you have additional marketing material or a special offer. However, PR.com’s free plan provides distribution only on the company’s own website.
Distribution
Free releases with PR.com provide distribution only on PR.com’s press release page, which is the section of the website containing all recent releases. Journalists and media outlets frequently search these pages for news and stories. PR.com has additional paid distribution packages that will submit your press release to a standard array of news agencies.
Customization
PR.com has the highest level of features of all the free press release services we evaluated. These features come with a tradeoff, however, since PR.com only publishes releases to their own site.
With PR.com, you receive the following free features:
Upload a small version of your company logo. Most free PR services either do not allow images or require payment to add a logo.
Add keywords related to your topic. Keywords allow trade journals, targeted publications, and journalists to filter press releases and find those that are most aligned with their niche.
Select five industries. By selecting specific industries, you make it easier for your press release to be found by relevant readers. Any niche media company that is looking for news related to a specific industry can more easily find your release.
Attach a file (of any kind) to your release. Adding files to a press release is a major advantage since it adds interest and interactivity to the release. Press releases may include a video, a white paper, an app, or any other type of digital file.
Scheduling
The publication of the press release depends on the number of releases in the queue. In most cases, the publication of the press release will be longer than two days. Next day or instant press release distribution requires payment.
Ease of Use
The interface is dated but functional. Submitting a release is a simple matter of following each step. The challenge to submitting a press release is the aggressive upselling throughout the process, which can make it hard to figure out how to send a free release.
Paid Upgrades
PR.com allows the following upgrades for a cost:
Company profile and additional industry listing ($99/year) – Adding this feature allows your company to receive a permanent profile in PR.com’s directory, plus your press release will be tagged with an additional industry, which improves visibility.
Link in the press release ($29.95 each) – Links in press releases are a great feature to have because they allow readers to easily visit your website.
Additional images ($60 each) – Adding an image, such as a head shot for a new hire or a company logo, adds visual appeal to a press release.
Next day distribution ($30) – Press releases are typically time-sensitive, so this is a helpful feature to have.
Additional distribution channels ($50 each) – PR.com’s distribution channels can be pricey, and it’s not clear how many syndication partners are within each distribution channel. You’re better off purchasing a paid service that guarantees a certain number of syndications.
Regional distribution ($30 each) – If your business targets a specific geographical area, adding geotargeting to your press release is important. When you do so, there’s a higher likelihood that local media outlets will see your press release.
What PR.com Is Missing
PR.com does not syndicate your release to media outlets for free. PR.com’s website is itself a large and reputable press release source, but you should not expect wide syndication. Syndication may happen organically as media outlets, journalists, and search engines pick up your press release and circulate it. If you select PR.com for your free press release, be sure to use an additional service provider
Where to Find PR.com
To send your free press release, all you need to do is set up your free account. PR.com will walk you through the creation and distribution of your first press release.

Best Free Distribution Service for Simple Press Releases: Online PR Media
Online PR Media is the easiest free press release service to use, allowing you to make simple and shareable press releases quickly. However, press releases sent with Online PR Media are not syndicated to media agencies.
Although releases are not syndicated, they are visually appealing and easy to share socially. This is a great option for a business owner who needs to create a press release but doesn’t need a network to distribute it.
Distribution
Distribution is limited to publication as a standalone page on the site and is live for 90 days after publication. The page template includes nine social sharing buttons and is supported with banner ads on the sidebar. Paid upgrades with Online PR Media or paid services do not contain ads and will reach a much wider audience through syndication.
Customization
You are allowed one link in the media contact area and can submit one press release per day. As an added benefit, the links from the press release may provide your website with marginal SEO value. You can target up to seven industry categories with each release.
Scheduling
Free press releases are live on the site for 90 days. Press releases are reviewed prior to publication. If your press release is approved, it should be published within 24 hours of submission. If it does not meet the editorial standards, you will receive an email with information and instructions.
Ease of Use
Online PR Media is the easiest platform to use and takes the quickest to complete. Signing up takes seconds, and the process of submitting a press release is quick and intuitive.
Paid Upgrades
Paid upgrades are priced based on the level of distribution and features:
Social Media ($22) – This is the most basic level. It allows for ad removal and instant sharing on social media.
Search Engine Visibility ($79) – The next level up is the most popular according to Online PR Media. It allows images and syndicates to 40 media outlets.
New Anchor PR Coverage ($199) – This paid upgrade provides a live press release reading from OPM’s newsroom, video addition, and everything that’s included in the Search Engine Visibility Package.
Maximum Media Visibility ($389) – The Maximum Media upgrade syndicates your release to 5,300 websites, which includes print media, broadcast companies, and trade journals.
Video PR Premium Visibility ($549) – The Premium package builds on the Maximum package, but adds video capability. Videos included in the release are syndicated to 1,800 websites.
What Online PR Media Is Missing
Online PR Media does not syndicate your press release except with paid upgrades. You can distribute your press release yourself by sharing the link, but it will not receive any news network coverage. Keep in mind that Online PR Media free press releases are live for only 90 days.
Where to Find Online PR Media
Go here to create an account, which takes less than a minute. You’ll then have access to the site where you can create and publish your press release. Online PR Media’s setup and creation process are quick and seamless, and the site is intuitive and easy to use.

THE HARROD REPORT: More Bad policy by the Trump led DoD bureaucracy.
Army Quietly Discharging Immigrant Recruits
Some immigrant U.S. Army reservists and recruits who enlisted in the military with a promised path to citizenship are being abruptly discharged, the Associated Press has learned.
The AP was unable to quantify how many men and women who enlisted through the special recruitment program have been booted from the Army, but immigration attorneys say they know of more than 40 who have been discharged or whose status has become questionable, jeopardizing their futures
"It was my dream to serve in the military," said reservist Lucas Calixto, a Brazilian immigrant who filed a lawsuit against the Army last week.
"Since this country has been so good to me, I thought it was the least I could do to give back to my adopted country and serve in the United States military."
LOL... The gutless white supremacist who received five draft deferments, mocked POWs, lied about donating to veterans organizations, and insulted the families of fallen service members has ordered immigrant recruits to be discharged from the U.S. Army -- and Congress remains silent.

LOL >>> TRUMP: "We don't need as much cannon fodder as we ded during Bush's unnecessary and illegal war in Iraq."
NY POST: Veterans respond to Army discharging immigrant recruits
Military veterans said it's a slap in the face that immigrant recruits have quietly been kicked out of the Army after being promised citizenship...
"They're pretty much breaking promises to these guys," said Mexican-born Army veteran Hector Barajas, who served in the 82nd Airborne Division between 1996-99 and was honorably discharged in 2001.
"They weren't actually in the service and they were receiving their adjudication from that process," spokeswoman Major Carla Gleason told The Post. "For some reason those individuals, after that suitability review, were determined to be not eligible to serve in the Army."
Margaret Stock, a a retired Army Reserve lieutenant colonel who helped create the immigrant recruitment program when she was a professor at the US Military Academy at West Point, questioned the Defense Department's explanation.
"They suddenly started discharging lots of people," said Stock, who now works at as an immigration attorney. "Before there would be one or two here or there. ... Now, there are whole bunch of people all at once with no explanation."
Over time, Stock said the vetting requirements for MAVNI recruits has gotten so extreme they are were impossible to meet. "They think that anybody who is a foreigner in the ranks is a threat," she said.
"It's totally suspicious to me. What DoD is doing is a classic thing the bureaucracy does when they are trying to cover-up wrong doing.
George Rufolo, 91, a World War II Navy vet and member of VFW Post 150 in Corona, Queens, said the recent discharges were flat-out wrong.
"It isn't fair," Rufolo said. "Why did you take them and then throw them out?"

AOL / HUFFINGTON POST: US Army reportedly discharging immigrants who enlisted with promises of citizenship
The U.S. Army has begun discharging some immigrants who enlisted in the military with promises that their service would lead to U.S. citizenship, according to a report Thursday in The Associated Press.
Attorneys representing at least 40 people recruited through a program meant to attract talented enlistees -- those with special language or medical skills -- say their clients have been discharged or had their military status put into doubt in recent days.
Some told the AP that they were given no reason why the discharges took place, while others said personal links to relatives living abroad led them to be labeled as security risks.
The U.S. had for years allowed skilled immigrants with legal status to enlist under the Military Accessions Vital to National Interest program, or MAVNI, and gain what President George W. Bush called "expedited naturalization" for their service.
Many were recruited to fill posts requiring medical expertise, including Army Reserve dentists, or specific language skills, including Russian and Mandarin Chinese, according to The Washington Post.
The AP noted that about 10,000 people are currently serving under the program and that, in order to gain citizenship, enlistees must be honorably discharged.

LOL... The incentives are there, mainly gaining citizenship thru honorable military service. Only Trump can screw up an already working program that helps weaken the defense of the country.

YONKERS, NY — Nader Sayegh, candidate for the 90th Assembly District has received the endorsement of the New York State Women’s Equality Party. Following the official endorsement of the Yonkers Democratic Committee, the Women’s Equality Party is the second political party to endorse Mr. Sayegh’s candidacy.

The Women’s Equality Party represents an essential part of the progressive democratic coalition that will propel Democrats to victory across the country in 2018, and I am honored to have their support.”
The Women’s Equality Party is another addition to a growing coalition of groups and individuals backing Mr. Sayegh’s candidacy, including the Yonkers Democratic Committee, Teamsters Local 456, the Yonkers Council of Administrators, and the entirety of the Yonkers State Legislative Delegation.
NEW YORK STATE: Marko Nikac, Congers, NY, Resident, Arrested in Green Card Scam
WHITE PLAINS, NY - On the morning of July 5, 2018, Westchester County Police detectives arrested a 48-year-old Rockland County resident in connection with a scam, in which he promised “Green Cards” in exchange for cash to undocumented immigrants residing in Mount Kisco.
Marko Nikac was arrested at his home in Congers, NY, by detectives from the Westchester County Police General Investigations Unit. The arrest followed a two-month long investigation into allegations that while impersonating a federal agent, Nikac offered to provide three undocumented immigrants with United States Resident Alien Cards (also known as “Green Cards”) for $3,000 each. Nikac was charged with two counts of felony Criminal Impersonation in the 1st Degree, one count each of the felonies Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree and Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree, and one count of misdemeanor Scheme to Defraud in the 2nd Degree. Nikac was arraigned later that day in Mount Kisco Village Court, and released on approximately $2,000 bail.
The scam was uncovered when one of the victims described to a retired police officer, with whom he is acquainted, how he and two of his friends had paid a combined $9,000 to Nikac for three United States Resident Alien Cards. Nikac had identified himself to the men as a federal agent and promised that the cards would be delivered within three months. After three months had passed with no cards being delivered, the victims became suspicious and asked Nikac for their money back. Nikac initially refused and threatened the men with deportation if they persisted in asking for the return of their money, but eventually returned $2,000 of the money.
The retired police officer passed this information on to Westchester County Police who provide local police service in Mount Kisco. County Police detectives then made contact with the victims who described the scheme in detail and identified Nikac, providing sufficient information to eventually locate and arrest him.
Acting Westchester County Police Commissioner Martin McGlynn stated that this investigation should serve to illustrate to undocumented immigrants residing in Westchester County, that they may report crimes committed against them to police without fear of immigration enforcement action against them.
McGlynn said: “It serves the entire Westchester County community well when criminals are apprehended, regardless of the immigration status of their victims.”
Westchester County Police detectives have asked area community groups to let them know if they become aware of any other victims of this or similar schemes. Anyone who is a victim or who knows of such victims are asked to contact Westchester County Police at (914)864-7819 or by directing email to: dps-rtc@westchestergov.com.
THE HARROD REPORT: North Korea Unhappy with America's 'Robber-Like' Demands
North Korea blasted the U.S. on Saturday for making what it called "robber-like" demands in meetings between Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Pyongyang officials, calling the attitude and stance of American officials "regrettable."
LOL... Diplomacy 101.... It It's interesting for world affairs students to see Trump try to bargain with North Korea.
Obviously North Korea is not going to denuclearize when it's their only bargaining chip.
Funny, but not funny ... with Trump as president, America is going to hell in a hand basket.
Democrats will probably make political hay out of this fiasco.
Almost every American knew YTrump was going to get shafted.
Why didn't Trump know?
https://abcnews.go.com/International/tension-display-pompeo-meets-kim-yong-chol-set/story?id=56422381
LOL... Even FOX News thinks Trump was played by the North Koreans.
"President Trump made a major concession simply by meeting with Kim, and then by halting joint military exercises between the U.S. and South Korea – a long-sought North Korean goal.
Once again, Pyongyang is following its tried and true diplomatic playbook of pocketing concessions and stalling for time.
This is where things get hard and the stakes jump dramatically. For there are only three possible paths for the Trump administration now, all of which are unappealing."

RELIGOUS NEWS >>> Losing Their Religion: Younger Adults are Less Religious, and Not Only in the US
Canada leads all countries with a 28 percentage-point difference between younger and older people on the question of whether they affiliate with a particular religion. Denmark, South Korea, Australia and Norway follow. In the United States, younger adults aged 18 to 39 years are 17 percent less likely to claim a religion than adults aged 40 and over.
The study, which examined three additional measures of religiosity in addition to religious affiliation — the importance of religion to people’s lives, daily prayer and weekly worship attendance — found some surprises.
While it is generally true that in Africa, the Middle East, South Asia and Latin America the gap in religiosity between young and old is narrower, it’s not true for every measure. In Lebanon, when younger and older adults were asked if religion was “very important” in their lives, there was a 20 percentage-point difference; in Iran it was 9 points and in Nigeria 6 points.
The survey offered a number of intriguing theories, besides economic well-being, for why young people so often lag in religion.
Education also plays a role. Rising educational opportunities usually — but not always — are associated with lower levels of religious adherence....

WORLD NEWS: America Ups the Ante over Pastor Brunson’s Detention
The American Charge d’Affaires in Ankara has said that Turkey’s continued detention of pastor Andrew Brunson on spying and terrorism-related charges is impeding US-Turkish relations.
Philip Kosnett said there is a “strong sense of unity in Congress between Republicans and Democrats” on the need for Brunson to be released and “a similar sense of unity between Congress and the administration that in order for the relationship between Turkey and the US to progress, we need to resolve that status not only for Brunson but also for other American citizens and local Turkish employees of US missions who we feel are detained unjustly under the state of emergency”.
Kosnett said that resolving those cases would improve “prospects for progress” in other areas of co-operation, such as security in northern Syria.
He was speaking to reporters yesterday as it emerged that two senators travelled to Turkey last week to lobby Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the release of Pastor Brunson, whom they visited in prison.
Republican Lindsey Graham and Democrat Jeanne Shaheen met President Erdoğan in Ankara last Friday (29 June) after visiting Pastor Brunson in prison in the Aliağa district of the western city of Izmir earlier that day
Following their previously undisclosed trip, Shaheen told the New Hampshire Union Leader: “Pastor Brunson has been unjustly imprisoned and kept away from his family for well over one year. The opportunity to see him and his wife, Norine, and to appeal directly to President Erdogan, were my main objectives on this trip.
“Any time an American is wrongfully detained anywhere by a foreign government, it is our country’s duty to do everything we can to bring him or her home.”
Shaheen, the senior senator from New Hampshire, is a member of the Senate Foreign Relations and Armed Services committees. She has been outspoken in calling for the US to sanction Turkey over the detention of Pastor Brunson, who has been behind bars for more than 20 months.
Shaheen and Republican Senator Thom Tillis secured an amendment in the National Defense Authorization Act that bars Turkey from buying F-35 fighter jets, because of its continued detention of Brunson.
“I am confident that the Turkish President understands this, and I appreciated the opportunity to raise my concerns. The US-Turkey relationship is of strategic importance to both countries,” Shaheen added.
The Turkish presidency did not issue a statement after the meeting.
The senators’ visit took place 10 days before Erdogan’s scheduled meeting with US President Donald Trump on the margins of a NATO summit in Brussels, Hurriyet noted.
Brunson’s third hearing is set for 18 July. Prosecutors have accused Brunson, pastor of the Izmir Resurrection Church, of having ties with supporters of Fethullah Gülen, the Muslim cleric Turkey has demanded be extradited by the US in exchange for Brunson, and the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party, and are seeking a 35-year sentence. He denies all the charges.
Meanwhile, a leading Turkish commentator wrote that “many” diplomats in Ankara expect his imminent release and deportation. In a column for Hurriyet, Serkan Demirtas suggested that the political fall-out of Brunson’s continued detention in Turkey was proving too costly.
“Brunson, who has been in jail since late 2016, seems to be much too costly for Turkey, and his continued detention would further complicate the situation. That is why many diplomats in Ankara expect his potential release followed by his deportation, pending trial on the July 18 hearing,” he wrote.
“Of course, it is impossible to foresee what the court’s decision will be, but his release would sure help the ongoing reconciliation process between Turkey and the US.”
