A registered "sexually violent" offender convicted of raping a 15-year-old girl has reported a move in Westchester County.
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Thursday to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 31-year-old Eric Jones, who has moved to an apartment on the Glenwood Avenue in Yonkers.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Jones as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a sexually violent offender.
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Jones had deviate sexual intercourse, sexual contact and kidnapped his 15-year-old victim in July 2004. He was convicted of first-degree rape in 2006 and sentenced to a term of 15 years in state prison.Officials noted that Jones used threats, coercian and physically overpowered his victim while committing the crime....
