TAX DEADBEAT: New York State Had To Place A Tax Lien On  Senate Candidate Julie Powers Killian Multi-Million Dollar Estate

Mega State County And Local GOP Donor Julie Powers Killian, who is running against Democrat Shelley Mayer for George Latimerr's now vacant senate seat failed to pay her taxes, but had tens of thousands of dollars  to donate to the republicans so she could be appointed to a Rye City Council seat.

Legal documents filed with the Westchester County Courthouse on June 18, 2012, show that former Rye City Councilwoman Julie Powers Killian was issued a tax warrant by New York State's Department of Taxation And Finance for her failure to pay New York State income taxes.

As a result, a lien was placed on Julie Powers Killian's plush 2.41 acre, 11,000+ square foot, multi-million dollar estate located at 42 Forest Avenue in Rye, NY.

State aid to rye schools has suffered, because some people corporations and trusts have not paid their fair share. but Julie Powers Killian Paid Plenty To Republican Party.

There is a silver lining to this story however. Although Julie Powers Killian had failed to fully compensate the New York State by paying her fair share, she has remembered to stuff the coffers of the Republican Party.

Among Julie Powers Killian's contributions is $3,200 to fellow (three-time) tax fugitive former Rye Town Supervisor Joe Carvin; $2,200 to Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino; $1,250 to GOP Senate Candidate and slumlord Rob Cohen; $250 to former Councilwoman Suzanna Keith; and more.

Julie Powers Killian also hosted a $2,500 per head fundraiser for former Rye Town Supervisor and Tax Delinquent #JoeCarvin at her tax encumbered estate.

The former City Of Rye councilwoman will face Democrat Shelley Mayer now that Governor Andrew Cuomo called the Special Election for April 24

Bedford Attorney Sarmad Khojasteh Previously Dropped Of The Race For The 37th #StateSenate special election

This is Julie Powers Killian’s second campaign for the seat after she ran against Democrat George Latimer in 2016.

Because it’s a special election, there won’t be a primary before April 24

The seat has been empty since George Latimer resigned to become Westchester County Executive on Jan. 1

Republicans hold a one-person majority in the Senate with two seats open.

Democrats can take a numerical majority, and there is talk they could also unite with eight members of the Independent Democratic Conference to take control of the Senate with a win in Westchester County.

The winner of the #SpecialElection won’t take office until after New York state’s budget deadline on March 31.

The 37th District contains parts of the cities of Yonkers, White Plains and New Rochelle as well as Armonk Bedford, Bedford Hills, Bronxville, Harrison, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, North Castle Port Chester and Rye Brook
