International Holocaust Remembrance Day, is an international memorial day on 27 January commemorating the horror of the Holocaust that occurred during the Second World War.
It commemorates the genocide that resulted in the death of an estimated 6 million Jewish people, 5 million Slavs, 3 million ethnic Poles, 200,000 Romani people, 250,000 mentally and physically disabled people, and 9,000 homosexual men by the Nazi regime and its collaborators.
At the start of the 7PM meeting, which takes place in Council Chambers just a few doors down from the conference room and is open to the public,
the Yonkers City Council will honor Betty Migdol with a proclamation. Come and show your support for Betty and the Jewish Community at large.
The ceremony will be televised on City Hall TV Ch. 78, as well as on Facebook Live.
