DAILY VOICE: Yonkers Firefighter Dies At Age 48 Of 9/11-Related Illness

A recently retired member of the Yonkers Fire Department died on Tuesday, Sept. 9/11 after battling a 9/11-related illness.

Neill S. Tyndal, Jr. was 48 years old.

He was born in the Bronx on Feb. 5, 1969. He was the son of Neill, Sr. and Mary Jane, husband of Rosemarie (nee McNeill), father of Matthew and Neill, brother of Anthony and John (and his wife, Catalina) and uncle of Angela, Jacqueline, Anthony, Jr., John Michael, Jayden and Sophia.

In his free time, he enjoyed boating with his children, as well as riding his motorcycle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House....

YONKERS — The terror attacks on 9/11 claimed the life of another Westchester firefighter this week.

Neill S. Tyndal Jr., a recent retiree from the Yonkers Fire Department, died on Tuesday after a long battle with a 9/11 related illness. He was 48.

.....Tyndal recently retired from the fire department.

Tyndal's family says he enjoyed boating and riding his motorcycle. He leaves behind a wife and two sons.

A wake will be held on Saturday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at F. Ruggiero & Sons, Inc. on 732 Yonkers Ave. Funeral services will be held on Monday at St. Barnabas Church.
