ShopRite Supermarkets Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Wakefern Food Corp., the largest supermarket cooperative in the United States, and owner and operator of 35 stores throughout New York and New Jersey, announced that it has expanded its Kids Club program to all of its locations.
The program provides children with a free snack at the supermarket, and is designed to give youngsters a reason to get excited about grocery shopping and encourage them to enjoy healthy snacks.
Specifically, the program provides kids 12 and younger with a “Kids Club Card,” which can be obtained at the courtesy desk free of charge, that they can present in the produce department to receive a free piece of fruit such as a banana, clementine or apple while shopping with a parent or guardian.
The Kids Club program was initially introduced in four ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc. stores in the Capital Region this past summer, and similar variations of the program are currently available at several dozen stores in ShopRite’s six-state trading area.

The Kids Club program is part of ShopRite’s ongoing commitment to providing health and wellness offerings to its customers.
