Commonly Asked Questions About Public Records Online

Where Does Public Record Data Come From?

Data from public records come from government data that regular search engines cannot access. Throughout a person's live, government agencies at the county, state, and federal level collect information about people. For example, a county clerk might have information about a person’s birth certificate and a courthouse might contain criminal records. Much of this data is available to the public. Online public records websites collect this data into easy-to-read reports. Many public record sites will also scour various social media to give you a more complete picture (literally, as some sites include photos) of the person you're trying to look up.

What Kind Of Data Is In Public Records?

Different Public Records services offer different kinds of data. However, they commonly offer data such as:

Legal Name
Known Aliases
Birth Date
Phone Numbers
Current and Last Known Addresses
Persons Living at the Same Address
Relatives
Arrest and Conviction Records
Traffic Records
DUI arrests
Properties Owned
Bankruptcies
Liens
Weapon Permits
Judgments
Known Associates
Social Media Information
Online Activity

How Can I Use Online Public Records?

Popular uses for online public records sites include checking on people such as:

Neighbors
Nearby Sex Offenders
New Friends
Former Classmates
Vacation Buddies
Celebrities

The public records services we review are NOT credit reporting agencies. That means it is prohibited to to use these sites for any purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). So you can not use them for things like employment screening, tenant screening, or making decisions about credit or insurance eligibility.

How Accurate Is Data In Online Public Records?

Data in online public records tend to be highly accurate, though there is no guarantee that 100% of the data will be accurate on all reports. There may occasionally be errors that exclude information about a person, or (less commonly) include inaccurate information on a report. Since each jurisdiction has different laws about public records, the available data is highly influenced by where a person lives.

Are Online Public Records Free?

No. It costs money to source data and organize it into reports. No legitimate, reputable public records website is free. This is one of those industries where you get what you pay for.

How Much Do Online Public Records Cost?

The pricing model varies from company to company. The most reputable companies allow you to sign up for a month-to-month subscription that allow you to search as many public records as you want.

Are People Notified When You Pull Their Public Records?

No, all public records searches are confidential. When you pull a person’s report, they won’t know that you’re looking at their public records. This is one of the things we often hear from our readers as a major concern when running online background checks.

Please Note:

Do not use any information obtained through this listing to determine a person's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing (tenant screening), or for any other purpose covered under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

This serviceis not a consumer reporting agency and does not offer consumer reports.

This Service gathers information from public sources, which may not be complete, comprehensive, accurate or even up-to-date.

This service is not a substitute for your own due diligence, especially if you have concerns about a person's criminal history.

This service does not verify or evaluate each piece of data, and makes no warranties or guarantees about the information offered.

MV 411: Live, Work And Play In Mount Vernon, New York

Mount Vernon is the city that borders just north of The Bronx, and is one of the largest cities in the state. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 67,292.

Not only is the population large, but incredibly diverse as well. Mount Vernon houses over 98 different nationalities, and has the largest West African and West Indian populations in the county.

A significant portion of the population is also Brazilian, with one in 10 people in Mount Vernon being from Brazil.

In the past, Mount Vernon also had some major celebrities among its population, including P. Diddy, Denzel Washington, and Floyd Patterson.

Mount Vernon is split up into four major sections, which are Downtown, Mount Vernon Heights, North Side, and South Side.

Downtown and Mount Vernon Heights are both centers of shopping and commerce. South Side of Mount Vernon has a suburban feel, while the North Side is much more urban, similar to the borough it borders.

In recent years, Mount Vernon has transitioned from a small businesses city to a city of regional commerce.

Mount Vernon now has a large commercial sector, which has helped boost fiscal growth for the county. Mount Vernon also hosts a handful of original events every year.

#CityFest, which is the largest arts and entertainment festival in Westchester County.

The city is also known for having the largest library system and only athletic stadium in the county, but petty political games keep both community assets from reaching their full potential.

New York State Sen. Shelley Mayer is doubling down on her call for MGM to drop a lawsuit against victims of last year’s Las Vegas massacre.

And if it doesn't, the state should consider nixing the company’s bid to buy Empire City Casino and Yonkers Raceway.

“I’ve expressed my views and I’m waiting to hear back whether they’ve changed their posture,” Shelley Mayer, a Yonkers Democrat, told The Journal News/lohud.

“And if they haven’t, I intend to continue to have my voice heard.”...

LOL... Judge Rules That Michael "I Love Porn" Yazurlo Was Not For "Being Italian" By Yonkers' Italian Mayor Mike Spano

JOURNAL NEWS: Judge rejects ex-Yonkers schools chief's discrimination claim; keeps slander, breach claims

YONKERS: A federal judge has thrown out a discrimination claim filed by former Yonkers Schools Superintendent #MichaelYazurlo, but ruled that the ex-schools chief can pursue slander and breach of contract claims against the schools district.

U.S. District Judge Nelson Roman said Yazurlo, who resigned under pressure in 2015 after confronted with allegations that he spent $2,300 viewing porn on school district computers, did not have grounds to claim he was fired for being "of Italian origin."

Roman ruled that Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano could not have discriminated against Yazurlo because the board of education, not the mayor, were his bosses.....
