MV Citizens for a Better Board of Ed - Zamor: Lavish Lie$ Lead Investigators to School District

Zamor: Lavish Lie$ Lead Investigators to School District
Dear Concerned Citizen,
Inside sources say Lesly Zamor and his canned architect left behind a trail of lavish lies. First it was the $180,000 secret room that still remains to be revealed... then it was the promise to fight a pastor in the parking lot... and now questions are surfacing about extraordinary amounts of tax dollars blown over-budget on fine materials for auditoriums and "curb-appeal." Meanwhile bathrooms in school buildings are shut and children are sharing sports equipment and barely have books.

All this has led investigators to ask high level School District Officials about the extravagant wasteful spending, anonymous sources say out of fear of retribution by Zamor.

Zamor's abusive behavior is catching up with him. Bullies do not belong in our schools or on the School Board. Zamor must go! Zamor is trouble and his American Express judgment shows his lying nature.

With the architect gone, we will learn about the lavish lies of Lesly Zamor.

Stay tuned to know more about Zamor...

Community Update from Yonkers Assemblymember Shelley Mayer

September, 2017

Dear Friend:

From Hurricane Harvey in Texas, to Hurricane Irma in Florida, and the recent destruction in Puerto Rico from Hurricane Maria, the end of summer brought us historic natural disasters across our nation. Many concerned constituents have reached out to me offering to help, and I have been coordinating with City, State, and Federal elected officials on the best way forward.

My District Office in Yonkers is an official Drop-Off Location for those who are interested in donating supplies for natural disaster relief. Please read below for more information regarding the type of donations that are being accepted.

With hundreds of Puerto Rican families in my district, the crisis has been particularly difficult for Yonkers residents. I am a proud member of the NYS Assembly Puerto Rican/Hispanic Task Force, and I have signed on to a letter from the Task Force urging President Donald Trump to do more for Puerto Rican hurricane relief efforts. These asks include increased aid for recovery; a lifting of the Jones Act for one year; and providing assistance to communities receiving people who have fled Puerto Rico.

If you have any suggestions about ways my office can do more, please feel free to call my office at 914-779-8805 or email me at MayerS@nyassembly.gov.

As always, please do not hesitate to let me know if my office can be of assistance to you.

Warm regards,

Shelley B. Mayer
New York State Assemblymember
90th District
Yonkers

YONKERS CARES

WORKING TO INCREASE ACCESS TO
QUALITY CHILD CARE ACROSS NYS

Child Care Task Force Round Table in NYC.

As the Chair of the Assembly Task Force on Women's Issues, along with Assemblymember Ellen Jaffee, Chair of the Assembly Committee on Children and Families, we have convened two round table discussions, one in Albany and one in New York City, to evaluate child care needs, affordability, and accessibility across New York State.

We have also invited other Assemblymembers to host round tables in their local communities, so they can hear from local providers and parents. To that end, I will be hosting a local round table on October 26th from 4-6 PM at Riverfront Library in Community Rooms A&B. Invited participants will include providers, parents, and advocates.  Residents are welcome to attend and listen to the discussion.

Some of the issues we are preparing to take into the next legislative session include the need to expand access to quality child care, as well as caregivers' access to professional development, and providers' challenges maintaining a quality workforce in the face of low wages. I will continue to fight to increase funding for child care.
