Being an influencer is now the top dream job for many kids, outranking doctor or astronaut. This isn't just a trend—it's a cultural signal. Instagram villages, where entire towns are staged for perfect photos, show how far we'll go for clout.
Shockingly, some young female influencers turn out to be mature men, catfishing for attention and profit.
Parents are even teaching kids how to be famous, with "content creation" classes popping up. Meanwhile, flattery-driven open-source projects reward charisma over skill, and elites may be sidelining experts, risking the integrity of science itself. Yet, some teens are pushing back, refusing social media entirely—a quiet rebellion against the noise.
The Male Dilemma and Social Isolation
Men face unique pressures. Male shaming and social perfectionism are linked to rising mental health issues. Hikikomori—young men withdrawing from society—and incels reflect a growing sense of exclusion.
