WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY: Why Did Peter Viviano leave the Westchester County DA’s Office?

Viviano & Difiore have been "Good Friends" for some time. Viviano & Difiore clearly have had a deep friendship.

Viviano issued a statement that "When delving into open cases and other briefings, that Viviano recognized potential conflicts of interest and possible perceptions of impropriety which might be inferred by his very involvement". Viviano also said that he chose to resign from his post rather than tarnish the respect and friendship he nurtured over many years with District Attorney DiFiore. Why did he resign? What open cases & other briefings? What potential conflict of interest or possible perception of impropriety? These questions must be answered & cleared up by Viviano? How would these issues tarnish his respect & friendship with DA Difiore? What happened in the City of White Plains? What is the story with the White Plains Police Dept? Many questions of Mr. Viviano? Will he answer these questions? Will we ever know why he left? If DA Difiore does know any of these issues, it is incumbent for her to come forward & tell us what are these potential issues?

Note: Sources tell News 12 Viviano is believed to be related to restaurant owner Luis Gigante. Gigante, who owns Mulino's in White Plains, was recently indicted on charges of tax evasion. He is also the nephew of the late mob boss Vincent "The Chin" Gigante. At this point, there is no evidence to suggest that case would have come before Viviano.
