POLITICS: Steve Schmidt Eviscerates Trump and His 'Loathsome Cabal'

Republican strategist Steve Schmidt jumped to the defense of John McCain -- whose presidential campaign he ran in 2008 -- after a horrific comment ostensibly made by White House aide Kelly Sadler.

"Kelly Sadler, the WH Aide who joked about and reveled in joy about the fact that John Mccain is approaching the hour that will come for us all is a disgrace. She is vile, cruel, and indecent. She is a perfect fit for this loathsome cabal that is rotten from Trump down. ... I pray a righteous rage and anger is swelling in the hearts of every decent person in this country around the desecration of our country and values by team Trump. Let us repudiate these terrible people. Let's do it with joy and gratitude for the privilege."

Excellent rant. I feel his fury at what is happening to our country.

But, it will never be seen on Fox News. Except in out-of-context snippets.

LOL... Republicans who helped create trump now whine about the monster they created.

Schmidt helped McCain during the election when McCain picked Palin, and brought the "we want a mentally stupid leader!" elements of the republican party out of the closet.

It was long hard to imagine that there could be a worse party for the American people than the Republicans, but now we've seen them made look almost decent compared to the Trumpublicans they have become.

On the other hand, sometimes I think his disgust and outrage should be more prevalent among the Republicans.

It's a shame there are so few Republicans like him.

Most have openly sold their souls to Trump or refuse to speak out against him.

I don't always agree with Schmidt or McCain but he NAILED it.

Schmidt is one of those few republicans (of late) that put country before party.
