GULLOTTA HOUSE: Gives Back To The Community

Learn about Mathew Matthew Gullotta’s inspiring journey and the impactful mission of Gullotta House in Westchester County...

MATTHEW GULLOTTA AND GULLOTTA HOUSE: A Beacon of Hope in Westchester County

In the heart of Westchester County, New York, Mathew Matthew Gullotta has emerged as a compassionate leader dedicated to uplifting his community through the Gullotta House, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization he founded in 2015.

Driven by personal experiences of hardship and a commitment to helping others, Gullotta’s work has touched countless lives, providing aid to residents facing financial, emotional, or situational challenges.

A Personal Mission Rooted in Resilience.....

Matthew Gullotta’s story is one of perseverance. Growing up in Tarrytown (then North Tarrytown), he faced significant challenges, including a devastating fire in 1974 that destroyed his family’s home and belongings.

The Gullotta family, with five children, struggled to find housing as landlords turned them away, and social services denied assistance due to their prior year’s income.

These experiences left a lasting impression on Gullotta, shaping his resolve to create a resource for others facing similar crises, regardless of past financial status.

Today, as the Founder and President of Gullotta House, Mathew resides in Ossining, where he has lived for over two decades.

His deep ties to Westchester County fuel his dedication to supporting its residents.

Gullotta’s mission is clear: to provide immediate, compassionate help to those in need, offering hope and practical assistance without bureaucratic barriers.

Gullotta House: Helping Without Judgment.....

Founded in honor of Mathew’s parents, Anthony and Carolann Gullotta,

Gullotta House is a nonprofit dedicated to aiding Westchester County residents facing hardships.

Unlike many organizations, Gullotta House does not consider past income when offering assistance.

Whether it’s a sudden job loss, medical emergency, or disaster like a fire or flood, the organization steps in to provide food vouchers, educational scholarships, holiday assistance, and community event support.

Since its inception, Gullotta House has made a tangible impact......

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization partnered with local restaurants to distribute over 150,000 meals, helping both food-insecure families and struggling businesses.

In 2023, their annual Thanksgiving event at St. Ann’s Church in Ossining provided full meals to 397 veterans, seniors, and residents, along with $1,250 in gift cards and over 300 turkeys.

Signature Events and Community Engagement.....

Gullotta House is known for its creative fundraising events, which not only raise funds but also foster community spirit.

The Headless Horseman Plunge and Escape from Sing Sing Plunge are signature events held in February, where participants brave the cold Hudson River to raise money.

In 2025, these plunges raised nearly $46,751, with funds supporting camp scholarships and other community programs.

Other events, like the Gullotta House Duck Race, Liftoween, and anniversary celebrations, bring residents together for fun and philanthropy.

Mathew Gullotta’s leadership extends beyond fundraising.....

His hands-on approach includes personal acts of kindness, such as securing a stair lift for a disabled resident within 24 hours or providing circus tickets for a single mother’s daughter’s birthday.

These small but meaningful gestures reflect Gullotta’s belief in giving people hope and dignity during tough times.

A Vision for the Future: A Home for Gullotta House.....

One of Gullotta House’s most ambitious goals is the “Gullotta House Needs a Home” campaign, launched to establish transitional housing for fire and flood victims and displaced residents.

The nonprofit aims to raise $350,000 to purchase a five-family home in the Hudson Valley, ideally between Sleepy Hollow and Peekskill.

This facility would provide rent-free housing, three daily meals, clothing, and laundry services for up to 29 days, offering a lifeline to those rebuilding their lives.

Following the passing of Mathew’s father, Anthony, in 2023, donations in his memory everyone has been directed to this campaign, honoring his legacy of resilience and community spirit.

Gullotta House also supports up to five families with loved ones in hospice care, providing meals, gas cards, or transportation.

Recognition and Community Impact.....

Matthew Gullotta’s efforts have not gone unnoticed.

In 2025, the Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown Chamber of Commerce honored Gullotta House with a plaque for its 10-year anniversary, celebrated with a garden brunch in Briarcliff Manor.

County Executive Kenneth Jenkins attended, underscoring the organization’s regional impact.

Gullotta’s ability to mobilize volunteers, local businesses, and community advisors—such as legislators, real estate professionals, and local leaders—has amplified the nonprofit’s reach.

From assisting a Pearl Harbor veteran with yard work to replacing a broken mailbox for a stroke survivor, Gullotta House’s work is as diverse as the needs of Westchester’s 967,612 residents,

9.44% of whom live below the poverty line.

By addressing both chronic and acute hardships, Gullotta House remains a vital resource in a county where the median household income is $94,811, yet many still struggle.

How to Get Involved....

Mathew Matthew Gullotta and Gullotta House continue to inspire Westchester County with their unwavering commitment to compassion and community.

To support their mission, residents can donate, volunteer, or participate in events.
