Richard Introduces Amendment to Protect Personal Privacy

Richard recently introduced an amendment guaranteeing the right the privacy in the State Constitution. Richard was joined by various legislators from around the State, Family Planning Advocates, Citizen Action and the NYCLU.

The constitutional amendment is crucial to protect our civil liberties against recent actions by the Bush Administration that have whittled away at personal privacy rights through the increasing power of the unitary executive – the theory that the executive may exercise unlimited power. Richard has been an advocate of privacy rights whether it is reproductive choice, sexual orientation, online privacy or health privacy.
