If you're concerned with issues relating to the education of our children, please be advised that the NAACP is having a panel discussion entitled "Mayoral Control of the Schools -- Solutions to the Problems or Human Rights Disaster?", at 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 26 at the YWCA, 87 South Broadway, Yonkers. Speakers will include NYC parents, teachers and students already experiencing mayoral control in their city.
Mayor Amicone has expressed a desire to do away with the Board of Education in Yonkers and put in it's place a City controlled Department of Education. Whatever side you are on, we think it is an opportunity to let your opinions be heard on this issue.
