DAILY MAIL: Otto Warmbier's parents lied; he was not tortured or disfigured by North Korea during his imprisonment source

Coroner's report on the death of Otto Warmbier appears to dispute claims made by his parents that he was tortured and disfigured by the North Koreans

  • A coroner's report on Otto Warmbier's death appears to conflict with his family's claims that he was tortured by the North Koreans
  • In a Tuesday interview, Fred Warmbier said 'it looked like someone had taken a pair of pliers and rearranged' his son's teeth
  • However, the coroner's report says the teeth were 'natural and in good repair' when Otto died six days after being released and returned to the U.S.
  • The coroner found a collection of 10 scars on Otto's body but none were serious enough to indicate torture
  • The 22-year-old University of Virginia student was detained in North Korea in January 2016, after being accused of stealing a poster from his hotel
  • He was sentenced in March 2016 to 15 years hard labor and wasn't heard from for the next 15 months
  • He was released from the North Koreans in June, and was taken by a medical evacuation plane back to the U.S.
  • The North Koreans claim he came down with botulism shortly after his trial and fell into a coma

A coroner's report on the death of Otto Warmbier conflicts with some claims made by his grieving parents, who say he was tortured during the 15 months he was detained by the North Korean government.
In an interview on Fox & Friends on Tuesday, Fred Warmbier said that when his son was released and returned to the U.S. in a medically-induced coma in June, it 'looked like someone had taken a pair of pliers and rearranged' his bottom teeth.
But the Hamilton County Coroner's report, obtained by the Cincinnati Enquirer on Tuesday, found Otto's teeth were in 'natural and in good repair' when he died six days after returning to the U.S.
The coroner found a collection of 10 scars on Otto's 'well-developed, well-nourished' body, but nothing serious enough to indicate he was tortured....
